Peati Mene-Vaele

Talofa lava, I am a clinical psychologist based in Christchurch Central City.

I provide ACC assessment and therapy for adults. I have eight years of experience, working with depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment disorders. My therapy modalities are CBT and ACT trauma-informed approaches. I specialise in working with Pasifika with a cultural-informed lens. I also provide supervision for allied health professionals, and clinical trainees, and enjoy teaching at both Canterbury and Otago Universities about Pasifika mental health.

I have previously worked in corrections settings and am currently working in a community medical and mental health service part time. My interpersonal approach is underpinned by values of humility, respect, and service. I value client participation and perspective in order to understand how best to support one’s wellbeing journey.  My work with ACC is professionally supervised ensuring evidence-based and safe practice according to my psychology registration core competencies and ethics guidelines.
