Nicole Kornelson

Kia ora! My name is Nicole.
I am a Speech-Language Therapist based in Ōtautahi/Christchurch, working with school-aged learners and adults. Much of my work has been alongside people and communities who seek support in their ability to eat safely, understand language or information around them, use their voice well, or use their words more meaningfully and confidently in everyday life tasks.

My practice is neuro-affirming and strengths-based, where barriers and goals are based on your journey then achieved with togetherness and team-work (mahitahi).

Sessions and goals often focus on building communication or language skills that support meaningful participation and understanding in everyday lived stories or events. 

I am also trained in LEGO therapy and Hanen’s More Than Words programme, which both focus on communication through play with younger tāmariki.
I value the positive, safe-space created in play-based therapy with children and welcome collaborative service planning with Psychologists and other providers.
