About

Mandy brings extensive experience from a wide range of counselling environments, each shaping her warm, grounded, and client‑centred therapeutic style.

Her early work with Lifeline involved providing crisis support, emotional de‑escalation, and safety planning for individuals in acute distress. In this fast‑paced environment, Mandy drew heavily on Solution‑Focused Therapy to help callers identify immediate strengths, stabilising resources, and achievable next steps. This work strengthened her ability to remain calm, attuned, and responsive while supporting people through moments of significant vulnerability.

At the Women’s Centre, Mandy supported women navigating trauma, life transitions, mental health challenges, and systemic barriers. Her practice here was strongly informed by Person‑Centred Therapy, offering a deeply empathetic, non‑judgmental space where clients could explore their experiences at their own pace. This setting reinforced her commitment to empowerment‑focused, collaborative therapeutic relationships.

Her role at the Canterbury Men’s Centre broadened her clinical perspective further. Working with men experiencing anger, identity challenges, trauma, and emotional regulation difficulties, Mandy integrated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support clients in understanding patterns of thought and behaviour, while also using IFS (Internal Family Systems) to help men connect with and understand their internal emotional landscape in a safe and accessible way.

Through her work with EAP providers, Mandy supported employees and employers with workplace stress, burnout, bullying, conflict, and performance pressures. Here she blended Solution‑Focused and CBT‑based strategies to help clients develop practical tools, improve coping, and navigate organisational dynamics effectively.

Since 2019, Mandy has been in private practice, working with clients aged 18 and above. In this setting, she integrates all her modalities — IFS, CBT, Solution‑Focused Therapy, and Person‑Centred Therapy — to provide tailored, trauma‑informed support. Her private practice includes working with trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, and the impacts of sexual abuse. As an ACC‑accredited counsellor, she is experienced in supporting sensitive claims and offering structured, compassionate care for survivors of trauma.

Across all settings, Mandy is known for offering a warm, safe, and grounded therapeutic environment. She works from a deeply held belief that people are capable of meaningful change, and she walks alongside clients as they move toward empowerment, clarity, and resilience.
