About
I am a registered psychologist offering therapy in the North Canterbury. I grew up on a sheep and beef farm in North Canterbury. I identify culturally as Pākēha – I feel strongly connected to the North Canterbury landscape with many generations of my family living and farming in this part of Aotearoa.
I generally work with adolescents and adults using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy in combination with somatic approaches to support nervous system regulation. I have experience working with neurodiverse children and adults, and those with developmental differences. For younger clients, I work with the families/caregivers as much as with the young person with the intention of supporting change for the family unit.
I aim to help people that are ‘stuck’ to move in the direction they hope for, for themselves and their loved ones. This can present as mental health concerns (e.g. anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, addiction, relapse prevention etc.); or difficulties that have resulted from challenging events in their lives (e.g. adjustment, trauma, complex grief, stress, bullying, pain, challenging behaviour etc.)
